New Amsterdam Opera Announces Sweet Surprise Salon

The New Amsterdam Opera has announced a Sweet Surprise Salon to benefit the company.

The NAO announced that Sandra Lopez, Olivia Vote, Aaron Blake, and Kyle Pfortmiller will join the company on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 for a special concert with legendary Ira Siff as Master of Ceremonies. Artistic Director Keith Chambers who will perform on the piano.

The company did not reveal the location as it will only be told to ticket holders.

The New Amsterdam Opera recently performed “La Forza del Destino” earlier this year to acclaim with OperaWire noting, “Verdi’s Gem Gets Solid But Rare NYC Performance.” The company has also shown “Fidelio” and a gala performance.

Lopez recently performed as Florencia in Catan’s “Florencia en el Amazonas” with Arizona Opera, and as Matilde Neruda in Catan’s “Il Postino” with Saratoga Opera. Blake recently made his Metropolitan Opera debut in “La Traviata” as well as his New York City Opera debut in “Angels in America” where he scored rave reviews and OperaWire noted, “Vocally the tenor had a gorgeous timbre.” Meanwhile, Vote sang Nickclause in “Les Contes de Hoffmann” at the Hawaii Opera Theater while Pfortmiller performed in “Le Nozze di Figaro with the Toledo Opera.
