Opera San Antonio has announced its 2017-18 season.

The season will feature two classic works from Verdi and Puccini.

On Sept. 8 and 10, 2017, San Antonio will offer Crystal Manich’s production of Verdi’s “Macbeth” with Nadja Michael in the iconic role of Lady Macbeth and Greer Grimsley in the title role. Both singers have been recognized for their interpretations and performed them all over the world. Conducted by Sebastian Lang-Lessing, the cast also includes Nathan Stark as Banco and Eric Barry as Macduff.

Then, on May 17 and 19, 2018, the company will present Puccini’s “La Bohème.” Directed by E. Loren Meeker, the opera will be conducted by Enrique Carreón-Robledo with the cast still to be announced.

Opera San Antonio was formed to produce and present world-class opera by the local resident opera company of the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. In past seasons, the company has performed Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” and Bizet’s “Carmen.” It has also presented Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly.”
