musicAeterna Postpones Residency in Switzerland Due to Government Lockdown

By Logan Martell

MusicAeterna has announced that it will be postponing its first international residency at the KKL Lucerne in Switzerland until October 2021.

Originally scheduled for February, the decision comes as the Swiss Government extended its lockdown of cultural and recreational venues through the end of the month.

The program for all upcoming events such as concerts and masterclasses will be announced in the Spring.

Founded by conductor Teodor Currentzis in 2004, the orchestra and choir of musicAeterna have served as the resident choir and orchestra of the Perm Opera from 2011 to 2019 before reinventing itself as a privately-sponsored institution headquartered in St. Petersburg, Russia. Comprised of artists from over 12 different countries throughout Europe, the company has performed at prominent venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, La Scala, and the Royal Albert Hall, among others.
