The Miami Music Festival has announced its 2017 season, which will feature five operas, among other programs, starting on June 6, 2017 and ending on July 31, 2017.

The program, which will enter its fourth season and offers “an intensive training program for the next generation of classical musicians to work with mentors and gain performing experience,” will feature 250 students from over 25 students.

The company’s first opera production is Offenbach’s “The Tales of Hoffmann” which will be given two performances on June 29 and July 1.

That will be followed up by Janacek’s “The Cunning Little Vixen,” which is slated for performance on June 30 and July 2, as part of the popular MMF Family Opera series.

After a series of concerts, the festival’s lauded Wagner Institute will take its bow on July 22, 2017. The program, which features top singers such as Christine Brewer and Alan Held as mentors for the next wave of Wagnerian artists, will showcase the prolog and opening scene of “Götterdämmerung,” the first act of “Die Walküre,” and the final scene of the second ring opera.

Jake Heggie’s famed “Dead Man Walking” makes its South Florida Premiere on July 27 and 29 before “The Marriage of Figaro” closes out the festival on July 28 and 30.

There will also be a concert dedicated to Zarzuela and Opera aria nights on June 6, 9, July 7, 12, and 17.
