Mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins has landed a new job as the presenter of Songs of Praise on BBC.

The Welsh singer will appear in her first episode on Sunday, June 23, 2017, during which she will sing the classic hymn “Jerusalem.”

“Having watched Songs Of Praise for as long as I can remember and after the many appearances on the show over the past 12 years, it is wonderful to officially become part of the family,” she stated according to BBC. “I am hugely excited about my new role, about working with my friend Aled again and about meeting and worshipping with new people across the country.”

Jenkins, a former student of the Royal Academy of Music, previously appeared on the show “Popstar to Operastar” where she was one of the judges, alongside tenor Rolando Villazón. She also appeared on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2012, where she finished second. She has also received awards for her numerous albums, taking home the Classic Brit Awards for Album of the Year in 2005 and 2006.

She recently unveiled her album “Celebration.”
