Metropolitan Opera 2018-19 Live in HD Preview: Jonas Kaufmann On The Big Screen in ‘La Fanciulla del West’

Jonas Kaufmann will appear in his first Live in HD performance at the Met in many years this Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 as he stars in Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West.”

The broadcast, which is scheduled for 12:55 p.m. Eastern time, will feature the tenor as Dick Johnson, singing the final performance of the production this season.

Kaufmann will star alongside Eva-Maria Westbroek and Zeljko Lucic with conductor Marco Armiliato in the pit. Other cast members will include Matthew Rose, Michael Todd Simpson, Carlo Bosi, and Oren Gradus, among others.

This is the third Live in HD transmission of the season. It will be followed the US Premiere of “Marnie” on Nov. 10, a new production of “La Traviata” on Dec. 15, another new production of “Adriana Lecouvreur” on Jan. 12, a classic rendition of “Carmen” on Feb. 2, “La Fille du Régiment” on March 2, “Die Walküre” on March 30, and “Dialogues des Carmélites” on May 11.
