Merola Opera Program 2018 Announces Grand Finale Concert

The Merola Opera Program has announced the Grand Finale concert that will cap its 2018 summer festival.

The concert will take place on Saturday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. local time at the War Memorial Opera House. The event will be conducted by Dean Williamson, who is the music director of the Nashville Opera.

This year’s program features a whopping 29 artists including six sopranos, four mezzos, seven tenors, four baritones, two bass-baritones, five apprentice coaches, and one apprentice stage director.

The six sopranos include Kendra Berentsen, Cheyanne Coss, Marlen Nahhas, Brittany Nickell, Patricia Westley, and Meigui Zhang.

Megan Grey, Anne Macguire, Alexandra Urquiola, and Simon McIntosh make up the group of mezzo-sopranos, while the tenors are Zhengyi Bai, Christopher Colmenero, Addison Marlor, Brian Michael Moore, Christopher Oglesby, WooYoung Yoon, and Charles Sy. SeokJong Baek, Jacob Scharfman, Jaeman Yoon, and Xiaomeng Zhang comprise the group of baritones with Andrew Moore and Ted Pickell as the bass-baritones. The five coaches are Kseniia Polstiankina, Annie Brooks, Matthew Gemmill, James Maverick, and Thomas Morris. Marcus Shields is the apprentice stage director.
