Medici.TV To Stream Salzburg Festival’s ‘Salome’

On Saturday, July 28, medici.tv will broadcast the sold-out premiere of Romeo Castellucci’s new production of Richard Strauss’s “Salome” from the Salzburg Festival.

The production is set to star Asmik Grigorian in the title role with Franz Welser-Möst conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Alongside Grigorian, the production will star John Daszak as Herod, Anna Maria Chiuri as Herodias, and Gábor Bretz as Jochanaan.

“Salome” is part of this year’s Salzburg Festival, which is also set to include a new production of “Die Zauberflöte,” “The Queens of Spades,” “L’Italian in Algeri,” “L’Incoronazione di Poppea,” and “Les Pêcheurs de Perles.” The festival will also see such stars as Anna Netrebko, Yusif Eyvazov, Plácido Domingo, Aida Garifullina, and Cecilia Bartoli return.

“Salome’ is set to begin at 2:00 P.M. New York Time and 8:00 P.M. Salzburg Time.
