Maria Rebeka Announces New ‘La Traviata’ DVD For Naxos

Marina Rebeka has announced the release of her “La Traviata” from Hannover.

The soprano tweeted about the recording stating, “A video recording of ‘La Traviata,’ from last year’s performance in Maschpark in Hannover, is now available.”

The DVD is being released by Naxos and also stars Francesco Demuro and Thomas Hampson. The semi-staged concert performance is conducted by Kerri-Lynn Wilson.

The DVD marks the second for Rebeka, who was featured on Decca Classics’ “Guillaume Tell’ with Juan Diego Flórez and marks her fourth commercial release, per her website. The soprano is scheduled to release a Rossini album at the end of the year as well as a complete recording of Verdi’s “Luisa Miller.”

This season, Rebeka is slated to star in Bellini’s “Norma” at the Metropolitan Opera and will make her role debut as Amelia in Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” with the Vienna State Opera. She also makes her role debut as Leila in Bizet’s “The Pearl Fisher” at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

No U.S. release has been announced of yet for the “La Traviata” DVD.
