Lucas Meachem To Return To Metropolitan Opera In Two Productions

Luca Meachem is slated to perform in two productions at the Metropolitan Opera next season.

The baritone announced that he will be part of productions of “Iolanta” and “La Bohème.” Meachem will take over performances of “La Bohème” on Nov. 29, Dec. 3, 6, 10, and 13, replacing the originally announced Simone Piazzola.  He will also sing one performance of “Iolanta” on Feb. 14, 2019 in the role of Robert, filling in for Alexey Markov, who will sing the rest of the performances.

Meachem recently performed the role of Marcello in “La Bohème,” earning rave reviews and was also featured in the HD performance alongside Michael Fabiano and Sonya Yoncheva. He recently made his role debut as Athanael in “Thaïs” with the Minnesota Opera and sings the title role of “Don Giovanni” with the Semperoper Dresden.
