The Longborough Festival Opera is set to launch a new Ring Cycle in 2019.

The cycle will kick off in June 2019 with a new production of “Das Rheingold.” Per a press release, this first installment will feature showcases on June 5, 7, 9, and 11. In June 2020, Wagner’s “Die Walküre” will get a new staging, followed by “Siegfried” and “Götterdämmerung” in June 2021 and 2022, respectively. In June of 2023, the company is set to stage the entire cycle together.

The new production will be directed by Amy Lane who was recently an Associate Director on “Die Walküre” and Götterdämmerung” at the Royal Opera House.

“The Ring cycle is the most epic of tales with a score that is searing, desperate, sublime and so perfectly unfathomable,” Lane stated in a press release. “What an honor it is to set foot upon this glorious pathway and to commence this journey with Longborough.”
