Listen to Marina Rebeka’s ‘Maria Stuarda’ Live From Lativa

Marina Rebeka will make her role debut as “Maria Stuarda” is Donizetti’s beloved opera.

The Latvian soprano will begin the new year with the tour de force role at Riga’s Great Guild Hall on Jan. 10. The performance will also be streamed on Latvian radio for audiences to listen to around the world.

The Jan. 12 performance will take place at Liepāja’s Great Amber Hall and followed by the final performance at GORS Rēzekne Concert Hall on Jan. 15. The tour will include Maestro John Fiore leading the Latvian Festival Orchestra and Latvian State Academic Choir and Katja Levin will sing the role of Elisabetta and Bīlents Bezdīzs will sing Leicester.

Rebeka’s concert performances will be followed by a staged production at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in March and April. The cast includes Paolo Fanale and Carmela Remigio with Paolo Arrivabeni in the pit.

Rebeka is one of the leading sopranos who has sung all over the world. She recently received raves for her performances in Rossini’s “Guillame Tell” at the Metropolitan Opera and in Verdi’s “La Traviata” at the Veinna State Opera. She will next perform Donna Elvira in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at the Metropolitan Opera followed by Gounod’s “Faust” at the Latvian National Opera.
