By David Salazar

Lawrence Brownlee is doing his all for Autism Awareness.

The tenor launched a fundraising campaign for Autism Speaks on Monday with the aim of raising $3000 for Autism awareness research.

“As part of Autism awareness month, I have decided to ride 300 miles to raise $3000 for Autism awareness research! This is a cause that’s close to my heart because as many of you know, my son Caleb was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3,” the tenor wrote on Facebook. “if I can get 300 people to donate $10 each we’re already there!!”

The tenor posted a video clarifying that he will be doing the 300 miles on his road bike in addition to fundraising.

And last week news broke out that he was joining Opera Philadelphia as Artistic Advisor. Brownlee is slated for a duo recital in Chicago with bass Eric Owens this weekend before taking on the role of Belmonte in Houston Grand Opera’s “The Abduction from the Seraglio.”
