Kate Lindsey & Lawrence Brownlee Headline Washington Concert Opera

The Washington Concert Opera has announced its 2018-19 season, showcasing two rare gems.

The season opens with Gounod’s “Sapho,” a work known for its famous aria “O ma lyre immortelle.” Kate Lindsey takes on the title role  with Addison Marlor rounding out the cast,

Performance Date: Nov. 18, 2018

Lawrence Brownlee headlines Rossini’s’ “Zelmira,” a work that has been showcased several times at the Rossini Opera Festival. Silvia Tro Santafe sings the title role.

Performance Date: April 5, 2019

The Washington Concert was founded in 1986 and has shaped the way concert opera is presented in the DC area. Since then the company has performed nearly 60 operas in concert format, with a roster of world-renowned artists including Stephanie Blythe, Lawrence Brownlee, Renée Fleming, Michael Fabiano, Elizabeth Futral, Denyce Graves, Ben Heppner, Deborah Voigt, and many more. This season, the company performed “Maria di Rohan” with Ginger Costa-Jackson and Marina Ginger Costa-Jackson.

The company will begin selling tickets in April.
