Jonas Kaufmann, Maria Agresta, Cecilia Bartoli & Javier Camarena Lead Opera Monte Carlo’s 2023 Season

Opera Monte Carlo has announced its 2023 season featuring many of the greatest artists of our time.

Cecilia Bartoli stars in Handel’s “Alcina” with Philippe Jarroussky, Sandrine Piau, Varduhi Abrahamyan, Maxim Mironov, and Peter Kalman. Gianluca Capuano conducts the production by Christof Loy.

Performance Dates: Jan. 20-26, 2023

Gianluca Capuano conducts Rossini’s “Stabat Mater” with Maria Agresta, Varduhi Abrahamyan, Celso Albelo, and Ildebrando d’Arcangelo.

Performance Date: Jan. 25, 2023

Jonas Kaufmann leads Giordano’s “Andrea Chenier” with Maria Agresta and Claudio Sgura. Marco Armiliato conducts the Pierfranco Maestrin production.

Performance Dates: Feb. 19-25, 2023

Aida Garifullina, Javier Camarena, Plácido Domingo, and Massimo Cavalletti lead Verdi’s “La Traviata.” Massimo Zanetti conducts the production by Jean-Louis Grinda.

Performance Dates: March 17-23, 2023

Andre Schuen, Federica Lombardi, Ying Fang, Peter Kellner, and Patricia Nolz lead Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.” Philippe Jordan conducts Katharina Strommer and Lisa Padouvas directs.

Performance Date: March 20, 2023

Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” is set to star Levy Sekgapane, Alessandro Corbelli, Cecilia Bartoli, Nicola Alaimo, Ildar Abdrazakov, and Rebeca Olvera. Gianluca Capuano conducts the production by Rolando Villazon.

Performance Dates: April 16-22, 2023

Renato Dolcini, Carlotta Colombo, Sara Mingardo, Marco Saccardin, Salvo Vitale, and Alessandro Giangrande lead Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo.” Gianluca Capuano conducts the production by Franco Citterio Giovanni Schiavolin.
