Jonas Kaufmann Cancels New Years Eve Concert

By Francisco Salazar

Jonas Kaufmann has canceled his New Years Eve concert in Moscow.

The concert was scheduled with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire. Speranza Scappucci was scheduled to conduct the concert.

As a result, the concert will be postponed for another date.

Kaufmann is still slated to kick off the New Year with a concert tour through Japan before heading to the United States for concerts in Los Angeles and New York. He is also slated to tour Wolf’s Italienisches Liederbuch around Europe before heading back to the opera stage for Giordano’s “Andrea Chenier” alongside Sondra Radvanovsky at the Gran Theatre Liceu. He also sings the Second Act of “Tristan und Isolde” with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and opens a new production of “Parsifal” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
