Joan Dornemann & Paul Nadler’s International Vocal Arts Institute Kicks Off 2 Weeks of Concerts in NYC

The International Vocal Arts Institute is set to kick off its New York programming this week with a number of showcases.

The program, led by Joan Dornemann and Paul Nadler, will offer concerts between Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 16 at the Mannes School of Music, including a masterclass on June 11, 2018, led by Dornemann. Dornemann is not only a renowned vocal coach but has worked as the lead prompter at the Metropolitan Opera for decades. Nadler is an internationally renowned conductor who has worked with the Metropolitan Opera, among a number of other major companies.

Two aria concerts on June 8 and 9 kick off the offerings with two opera scenes presentations taking place on June 14 and 15. There will also be an American Song Concert on June 16 to cap the program. All of the concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. with free admission.

Throughout the two weeks, the performing artists will workshop roles and musical selections with a wide range of international coaches and singers including Lucy Arner, Jessica Cambio,  Mignon Dunn, Ruth Falcon, Dietlinde Maazel, Olga Makarina, Joshua Major, Liora Maurer, Beth Roberts, and Jane Steele.

Among those performing in the upcoming concerts are Mikayla Sager, Eugenia Forteza, Maari Ernits, Sarah Heilman, EphiGenia Castanas, Yulan Piao, Alexei Kusnetsov, Olivia Smith Grugan, Evan Henke, David Araujo, Lisa Faieta, Barbara Kits, Diana Charlop, Samantha Frischling, Andrea Gadzinski, HaYoung Jung, Laura Modglin, Laura Pabon, Dusan Grubisic, Zachary Sebek, Yingjie Zhou, Jake Goz, Mitchell Widmer, Gina Bauza, Kaitlin Barron, Georgina Wu, Lindsey Chinn, Claire Choi, Isabella Lamadriz, Enying Liu, Samantha Nahra, Evita Pehlaka, Lu Liu, John Ford, Dounia Behna, Cassandra Douglas, and So-Chung Shinn.
