Jamie Barton, Lawrence Brownlee and Eric Owens Headline Celebrity Series Of Boston

The Celebrity Series of Boston has announced its 2017-18 season with a number of opera singers scheduled to perform.

On Dec. 13, 2017,  Jamie Barton gives a recital. Barton is one of the most acclaimed mezzos in the industry as she has won the Beverly Sills Artist Award and the 2015 Richard Tucker Award. She is also a winner of the 2007 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and a Grammy nominee. She recently released her debut album “All Who Wander.”

Bass-baritone Eric Owens and tenor Lawrence Brownlee team up for a joint recital on April 7, 2018. Both have toured together and performed in numerous concerts. Owens is an esteemed interpreter of classic works and a champion of new music while Brownlee is a bel canto singer who recently won the Male Singer of the Year Award at the Opera Awards.

Winner of the 2014 Naumburg International Vocal Competition, soprano Julia Bullock also gives a recital on May 2, 2018. The soprano has been hailed as an “impressive, fast-rising soprano… poised for a significant career.”

Other concerts feature Wynston Marsalis, Emanuel Ax, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman.
