Isabel Leonard, On Site Opera & Susan Graham Headline Caramoor Festival 2018

The Caramoor Festival has announced its 2018 Festival with a number of opera stars participating and operatic selections.

The season opens with Audra McDonald as she performs from the American Songbook accompanied by Andy Einhorn, the music director of the Caramoor Festival. The orchestra of St. Luke’s accompanies.

Performance Date: June 16, 2018

Isabel Leonard and Sharon Isbin take the stage for an evening of Spanish song. The program will feature music by Enrique Granados, Manuel de Falla, Xavier Montsalvatge, and Federico García Lorca. The concert will take place in the enchanting Spanish Courtyard of the historic Rosen House.

Performance Date: June 28, 2018

Mozart’s “The Secret Gardner” will get a show in collaboration with On Site Opera. The production will star Ashley Kerr, Emalie Savoy, Katrina Galka, Kristin Gornstein, Chad Johnson, Michael Kuhn, and Jorell Williams. Geoffrey McDonald conducts in Eric Einhorn’s production.

Performance Date: July 13, 2018

Composed for a royal wedding celebration, Handel’s “Atalanta” gets a revival with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Nicholas McGegan. Sherezade Panthaki stars in the leading role with Amy Freston, Cécile van de Sant, Isaiah Bell, Philip Cutlip, and Davóne Tinee.

Performance Date: July 22, 2018

The 2018 Summer Season comes to a close with Orchestra of St. Luke’s led by Principal Conductor Bernard Labadie and mezzo-soprano Susan Graham. The concert will include selections from Handel’s “Ariodante” and “Alicina” as well as Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” and “La Clemenza di Tito.”
