How to Watch La Monnaie’s ‘Madama Butterfly’ Live Stream on Opera Platform

Interested in catching up with La Monnaie’s new production of “Madama Butterfly” but simply not able to catch it live in Brussels? The Opera Platform has you covered as the website will showcase a live stream of the performance on Feb. 8, 2017.

The performance kicks off at 1:55 p.m. local time (10:55 a.m. EST and 7:55 a.m. PT).

The new production of the famed Puccini work is framed as a ghost story with the heroine telling her tragic tale.

The opera will feature Alexia Voulgaridou in the title role. She has sung it at  the Hamburg State Opera, the Sydney Opera House, the New National Theatre Tokyo and the Royal Opera House London. Ning Liang interprets the role of Suzuki. Marcelo Puente takes on F.B. Pinkerton while Aris Argiris portrays Sharpless. Marta Beretta will portray Kate Pinkerton.

Those interested in seeing a live performance from La Monnaie can check out the remaining performances that end on Feb. 14. Tickets start at 10 euros a piece with all but two performances starting at 8 PM local time. The opera features an alternate cast led by Amanda Echalaz as Cio Cio San, Quilin Zhang as Suzuki, Leonardo Caimi as F.B. Pinkerton while Aris Argiris continues as Sharpless and Marta Beretta as Kate Pinkerton.
