Fort Worth Opera Adds ‘Hansel And Gretel’ To 2018-19 Season

Fort Worth Opera will present Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel” during the 2018-2019 season as well as elementary student performances of “Three Pigs Remix,” presented through the company’s acclaimed Children’s Opera Theatre program.

The company announced the addition noting that the opera will be a fully staged, 60-minute, pop-up production of the enchanting fairy tale opera and will be presented at The Marq in Southlake, Arlington Music Hall, and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden in November of 2018.

The opera is set to star Francesca Mehrotra as Gretel, Bridget Cappel and Heather Weirich sharing the role of Hansel and Anne Elizabeth Wright and Janani Sridhar alternating the role of the Mother. The witch will be played by both Myles Clayton Garver and Jonathan Walker-VanKuren, while Erik Earl David Larson and Sam Parkinson will alternate the father.

The production is set to run from Nov. 11-17, 2018.
