Everything You Need To Know About Boston Lyric Opera’s 2017-18 Season

The 2017-18 season has officially been announced by the Boston Lyric Opera, and it will include four opera productions.

The first production will be “Tosca,” starting on Oct. 13, 2017, and running for five performances. The production will feature Elena Stikhina as Tosca and Jonathan Burton as Cavaradossi.

Following “Tosca” will be “Mr. Burke & Mr. Hare” starting Nov. 8, 2017, at the Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts. The lead cast will feature William Burden as Dr. Robert Knox, Jesse Blumberg as William Burke, and Marie McLaughlin as Abigail Simpson.

Later in the season, Kurt Weill’s “The Threepenny Opera” will be presented.  It will be conducted by David Angus and will run from March 16, 2018, until the 25th. Kelly Kaduce will be leading as Polly Peachum, and Christopher Burchett will lead as Macheath, better known as Mack the Knife.

Finally, the season will conclude with Bernstein’s “Trouble in Tahiti” starting on May 11, 2018, and ending on the 20th. Heather Johnson will lead as Dinah, and David Angus will accompany her while conducting.
