Opera Orlando is opening its new 2017-2018 season in the park! The company’s first production will open on August 21, 2017, at 2 P.M., featuring Mezzo-soprano Amanda Crider. The next weekend “The Three Baritones,” Nathan Stark, Brain Myer, and Gabriel Pressier, will perform.

Finally, Tenor Marco Panuccio will end the summer series for Opera Orlando. All of the concerts will feature special guest Robin Stamper on piano and highlight the art of singing.

The next production, Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale,” will run on Friday, November 18 and Sunday, November 20. Metropolitan Opera singer Peter Strummer will play the title role in the production.

Along with the wonderful Strummer, an uprising trio of emerging artists will accompany him. Opera Orlando Chorus and players from the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will also be a part of the production.

In December, the Opera Orlando’s schedule continues with Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors” from December 11-20. Bringing the joy of opera and this traditional story, this production will travel to venues all over the Orlando area to places like Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital and the Dr. Phillips Center.

Directed by Eric Pinder and accompanied by Conductor/Music Director Robin Jensen, “Amahl” will be played by Dalton Joseph and Tyler Kreusch.

To close out the season Opera Orlando will showcase Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” on March 24, 25, and 26. This tragically funny production will be directed by Robert Neu and conducted by Elaine Rinaldi.

The cast will include Gabriel Preisser as Don Giovanni, Todd Donovan as Leporello, Rod Nelman as Commendatore, and many more fabulous singers.
