Diana Damrau & Joseph Calleja Star in Metropolitan Opera’s Live in Concert Series

By Francisco Salazar

Diana Damrau and Joseph Calleja will continue the Metropolitan Opera’s “Met Stars Live in Concert” series on Oct. 24, 2020.

The event, which will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET, will feature the superstars live from the Royal Palace of Caserta, Italy.

The program will feature popular arias and duets by Verdi, Bizet, and Rossini, among others. Scenes from Puccini’s “Tosca” will offer the audience a chance to hear Damrau in repertoire she would not ordinarily perform at the Met.

The singers will be accompanied by Vincenzo Scalera on the piano.

The recital will be streamed live via the Met website and will then be available on-demand for 14 days.

Damrau and Calleja’s performance will be followed in this series by concerts featuring Pretty Yende, Javier Camarena, Sonya Yoncheva, and Bryn Terfel. Yende and Camarena will perform on Nov. 7, while Yoncheva will be live from Berlin on Nov. 21 and Terfel will be live from Wales on Dec. 12.
