Diana Damrau has revealed her new album “Grand Opera.”

The soprano took to social media to announce the album, which will be dedicated to the music of Giacomo Meyerbeer, one of her favorite composers. On the video, the German soprano showcased her costume for the character of  Stella, which she is currently performing in Offenbach’s “The Tales of Hoffman” in Los Angeles.

The album was conducted by Emmanuel Villaume with the Orchestra and Chorus of L’Opera National de Lyon.

“Grand Opera” is slated for a May release and marks the German soprano’s eighth solo album for Warner Classics. She made her Warner debut in 2008 with her Mozart, Salieri and Righini album.

Damrau is an international opera singer who has sung in every major theater. She recently sang two acclaimed productions at the Metropolitan Opera in Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette” and Bellini’s “I Puritani.” She recently made her Los Angeles Opera debut in “The Tales of Hoffman” and is next slated to appear at the Metropolitan Opera’s 50th-anniversary gala this May.  This summer she is also slated to appear in Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
