Concert Commemorating 10th Anniversary of Pavarotti’s Death to Feature Two Esteemed Colleagues

On September 6, 2017, Fondazione Luciano Pavarotti and Friends & Partners will put together a gala to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the great tenor’s passing in 2007.

The concert will take place at the Arena di Verona in Italy and will feature Plácido Domingo and José Carreras paying tribute to the giant. The two, of course, worked alongside Pavarotti to create the international phenomenon known as The Three Tenors.

A press release also noted that opera and pop stars will be joining in on the event to celebrate the legendary Italian singer.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Thursday, March 16.

The Foundation was created by his wife Nicoletta Mantovani after Pavarotti’s death with the aim of “keeping alive Maestro’s memory through the organization of extensive international events” and supporting talented young singers looking to make their mark in the opera world.

The tenor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006 and passed away after a battle with the illness.
