The Chelsea Opera Group has announced that it will present a concert performance of Massenet’s “Thaïs” at the Cadogan Hall.

The performance, which is scheduled for June 23, 2018, will be conducted by Stephen Higgins with soprano Sally Silver in the title role.

The opera, which contains the famous Meditation for solo violin and orchestra, will also star baritone Michel De Souza as Athanaël and tenor Nico Darmanin as Nicias.

Silver returns to the company after a successful role debut as Leonora in “Il Trovatore” with Chelsea Opera Group in 2017. Meanwhile,  Darmanin returns to the company after his highly-regarded Osiride in Rossini’s “Mose in Egitto.” De Souza previously sang the High Priest in Saint-Saëns’ “Samson et Dalila” with the company.

The opera company recently performed Boito’s “Mefistofele,” Rubenstein’s “The Demon,” and Britten’s Requiem.
