Cecilia Bartoli Celebrates Her 30th Anniversary At The Opernhaus Zurich

The Opernhaus Zurich is set to celebrate Cecilia Bartoli’s 30th anniversary on Jan. 6, 2019.

The company announced that Bartoli will celebrate the milestone with a gala performance of “Semele” at 4 p.m.

The performance will be followed by a dinner on stage and the celebration will feature such invitees as the artistic director of the opera house and some of her colleagues.

“Semele” is set to star Deniz Uzun, Katarina Bradić, Rebeca Olvera, Frédéric Antoun, Nahuel Di Pierro, and Christophe Dumaux.

Bartoli made her Zurich debut in 1989 and since then has performed a number of roles including Rosina in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” Adele in “Le Comte Ory,” Desdemona in Rossini’s “Otello,” Donna Elvira in “Don Giovanni,” Fiordiligi in “Così fan tutte,” Angelina in “La Cenerentola,” the title roles of “Semele” and “Alcina,” as well as Paisiello’s “Nina” and Halévy’s “Clari.” She also performed her first Cherubino in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.”
