Barrie Kosky’s ‘Magic Flute’ To Be Featured At Perth Festival

Barrie Kosky’s production of “The Magic Flute” is set to be performed at the 2019 Perth festival.

The production, which showcases “The Magic Flute” alongside a silent film, will highlight the festival. Director Barrie Kosky’s interpretation of the famous opera has become a popular production at Komische Oper Berlin, UK theatre group 1927 and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.

Kosky’s production will be performed alongside three other works including “The Great Tamer,” “Boorna Waagniny The Trees Speak,” and “Lang Toi.”

Per a press release, the Festival’s artistic director Wendy Martin said, “These four incredible works from the imaginations of some of the world’s most inventive artists are spectacles of incomparable beauty, wonder, and scale.”

“The Magic Flute” will be performed from Feb. 20 to the 23, 2019 and the festival runs from Feb. 8 to March 3, 2019.
