Polina Lyapustina

UX and Product Designer, Economist, and Opera Journalist from Lithuania. Polina Lyapustina joined OperaWire in 2018 with her opera reviews. In 2019, she started to focus on Editorial content, concentrating on the social, ethical, economical, and political aspects of the opera industry. In 2020, Polina kicked off her Criticisms on Fridays series.

Born in Russia, Polina holds a Master’s degree in Economics and serves as a Product Designer in early-stage startups. During her university studies, she worked with visual arts and later opened her own gallery of contemporary art and design. She has written art criticism for Russian Art Newspaper, Hypertext, and Sobaka magazine.

Already in her early opera reviews, Polina pointed out common problems of the industry, which she started to investigate and analyze in her later editorial materials.

Today, Polina runs OperaWire’s Editorial Section. She also works as a press strategist in Lithuania and writes editorial materials and criticism for online and printed magazines, such as Bravissimo, Nwind, and Nemunas.
