Aprile Millo To Sing ‘Adriana Lecouvreur’

Aprile Millo will return to the opera stage in October.

The veteran soprano announced via Instagram that she will sing the title role of “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the Teatro Municpal in Rio di Janeiro.

The soprano recently returned to the stage last summer in Italy and has since been performing all over the world. Millo first performed the role of Adriana in 2002. Millo was a household name at the Metropolitan Opera where she performed numerous Verdi and Puccini roles. Among her signature interpretations were “Luisa Miller,” Leonora in “Il Trovatore,” the title role of “Aida,” and “La Gioconda.” Millo also recorded many CDs and full operas with the Metropolitan Opera.

Performances of “Adriana Lecouvreur” will take place in Oct. 2018.
