Anna Netrebko & Yusif Eyvazov Get New Conductor For Paris Gala

The Opéra de Paris has announced that Lorenzo Viotti will conduct the 350th-anniversary gala starring Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov.

The company announced that Viotti will replace Giacomo Sagripanti, who was originally scheduled for the gala that will celebrate the theater’s 350th anniversary.

Viotti is a Swiss conductor who is the designated chief maestro of the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon and who has conducted in Stuttgart, Dresden, Lyon, and Frankfurt. He is slated to perform this season in Tokyo and Paris.

Netrebko and Euvazov are currently in New York and will be featured at the Richard Tucker Gala. The couple is also scheduled to give concerts in Miami, Baden Baden, and Frankfurt. They will also join forces for a new production of Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino” at the Royal Opera House.

The 350th Anniversary Gala at the Opera de Paris is scheduled for May 8. 2019.
