Anna Netrebko, Michael Fabiano, Antonio Pappano Lead 6 Live Cinema Productions At Royal Opera House in 2017-18

As is the case with the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House popularly shares its work with audiences in cinemas around the world.

This season, the company is presenting six operas throughout the season.

The cinema showcase kicks off on Sept. 20 with a performance of “Die Zauberflöte” with Julia Jones in the pit and a cast that includes Roderick Williams, Siobhan Stagg and Mauro Peter.

Maestro Antonio Pappano will then lead a new production of “La Bohème” in cinemas on Oct. 3, 2017 with a cast that includes Nicole Car, Michael Fabiano and Mariusz Kwiecień.

On Jan. 16, 2018, David McVicar’s famous “Rigoletto” production heads to the silver screen featuring Dimitri Platanias, Lucy Crowe and Michael Fabiano. Alexander Joel conducts.

On Feb. 7, 2016, Dan Ettinger leads “Tosca” with Adrianne Pieczonka in the title role, Gerald Finley as Scarpia and Joseph Calleja as Cavaradossi.

A new production of “Carmen” will also get the HD movie experience on March 6 with Anna Goryachova, Francesco Meli and Anett Fritsch in the cast. That performance takes place on March 6.

That will be followed by an April 4 performance of “Macbeth” starring Anna Netrebko, Željko Lučić and Ildebrando D’Arcangelo. Pappano conducts.

There will also be six performances from the Royal Ballet.
